POSITION SUMMARY— This position is placed within the Child and Family Department and is a member of the El Centro de las Familias team, which provides bilingual (Spanish and English) mental health counseling, psychiatric, and case management services to the Latino/a/x and Hispanic communities. We serve people across the lifespan, working through a trauma-informed, strengths-based, relational, culturally attuned, and community responsive lens. The position provides outpatient therapy across the lifespan to children, youth, adults, couples, and families. These services are uniquely tailored to the needs of each individual or family being served. This position provides a wide range of interventions that include (but are not limited to): diagnostic mental health assessments; individual, family, play, couples, and group psychotherapy; connection to case management support and psychiatric services; crisis intervention; coordination and ongoing communication with appropriate collaterals. The individuals and families we work with present with a broad range of bio-psycho-social and mental health needs including trauma, depression, anxiety, behavioral challenges, and substance abuse, among others. This position is also responsible for maintaining compliance to documentation standards for all work performed.
Hours: 40 hours per week
Mental Health Therapist II (Master’s) – $26.04/hr
LCSW/LPC/LMFT – $29.72/hr – $30.22/hr
Licensed Psychologist – $42.25/hr
Spanish Differential – $2.50/hr
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provide diagnostic mental health assessments as well as individual, family, play, couple, and/or group psychotherapy along with crisis intervention and case management support to assigned individual/ family.
- Develop treatment plans; monitor treatment progress and follow-up as clinically indicated.
- Facilitate the individual and/or family’s growth and development with an emphasis on strengths, culture, resiliency, and wellbeing.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to support the growth and development of those we serve.
- Facilitate the coordination of services for individuals/ families with supplemental needs in psychiatric, case management, and medical domains.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation consistent with Mental Health Center of Denver standards.
- Participate in team/department meetings, in-services, and supervisory sessions as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Master’s Degree (or higher) in Psychology, Social Work, or other human service field. Licensed clinician (LCSW, LPC, LMFT) in the State of Colorado preferred.
Minimum of one year experience working across the lifespan with children, families, and adults experiencing significant mental health challenges. Bilingual English & Spanish required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist with program supervision of students/volunteers as determined appropriate.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to sit, stand, bend and reach, drive, operate standard office equipment such as phone, computer, facsimile, copier/printer, and other business machines. Occasional lifting up to 40 lbs.
TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS: Ability to give, receive and analyze information, formulate work plans, prepare written materials and articulate goals and action plans. Must understand people from all walks of life and be able to communicate effectively with them.
WORKING CONDITIONS: May require evening hours. Some local travel depending on position.
