Certified Medical Coder

Medical Coder Job Description:

We are seeking a qualified and dedicated medical coder to join our Ivy Creek Healthcare Network. In this position, you will be responsible for review of operative reports to abstract procedure, diagnosis, and implant information to be entered into our coding platform. To succeed in this role, you must possess in-depth knowledge of surgery coding. The ideal candidate must also be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, as communicating with on site surgery and Business Office departments is critical for success.

This is a flexible, remote, contract position.

Medical Coder Responsibilities:

• Accurately code Hospital surgery records for classification procedures.
• Communicate with Surgery, Medical Records, and Business Office departments for questions, missing documentation etc.

Medical Coder Requirements:

• Coding Certification required.
• A minimum of 1 year experience as a medical coder.
• Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• CPSI experience a plus.
