Position Summary

Are you driven to bring awareness to celiac disease and help solve the critical issues that impact the health of those affected? The Community Coordinator will play a key role in advancing the Celiac Disease Foundation’s vision for community engagement and ensuring its understanding of stakeholder interests, needs, and priorities across all programs and initiatives. The Community Coordinator will possess strong interpersonal skills, be team-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced and complex environment, with a demonstrated ability to work in a very fluid environment, managing shifting priorities and demands.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Foundation Events and Volunteers

  • Assist in planning, promotion, and implementation of virtual and in-person events.
  • Manage volunteer recruitment, registration, communications, and event tasks for Team Gluten-Free, Student Ambassador, State Advocacy Ambassador, and other Foundation programs.

Communications

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the annual communications strategy that addresses donor and supporter interests, including collaborating with other team members to assure that digital and print content align with the Foundation’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Assist with the design and execution of social media campaigns.
  • Track social media engagement to identify high-performing ideas and campaigns for scalability.
  • Stay apprised of supporter interests through regular review of celiac disease and gluten-free diet news and digital content.
  • Generate, edit, publish, and share Foundation content across multiple platforms, including blogs, websites, and digital and print publications.
  • Ensure continuity of the Foundation’s brand consistency and image; maintain standard and consistent messages in all external communications.

Development

  • Assist in executing a comprehensive strategic fundraising plan with a focus on enlarging and diversifying the donor base.
  • Assist in the design, production, and distribution of development communications to include campaigns, publications including the Annual Report, and digital marketing initiatives.
  • Utilize a variety of tools, approaches, and channels including direct mail, email, digital marketing, and events, and stay apprised of cutting-edge and proven methods to increase support for organizational capacity building and new programming.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cover letter required.
  • Minimum 1 year background or experience working or collaborating with nonprofit organizations.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Effective project management skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Excellent internet research skills.
  • Mastery of the major social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn.
  • Knowledge of social media analytics software including Facebook Insights, Google Analytics, and Twitter Analytics to track audience engagement and campaign performance.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment that requires strong multitasking, organization and time management skills and a self-starter mentality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Strong understanding of Adobe creative platforms including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator is a major plus.
  • Understanding of celiac disease.
