The Deposit Operations Specialist is responsible for bank wide support of operational functions as provided by a full-service bank, primarily deposit management, customer relations development and service, and informational accuracy in accordance with the Bank’s mission, objectives, policies, and procedures. Responsible for the monitoring, administration, and efficient daily operation of transactional processing as related to deposits. Provides a superior level of customer relations and promotes a sales and service culture through coaching, guidance, and staff motivation. Additionally, this role with support in branch coverage as needed; including but not limited to bank phone coverage, in-person customer inquiries, and account research. The position is 100% in the office.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Strongly knowledgeable and ensures compliance of all company policies and related procedures and regulations.
- Responsible for monitoring and addressing all daily exception item processing, including non-sufficient funds, non-post, stop payment orders, and chargebacks, including the distribution of notices.
- Processes wire transfers, ACH origination, checks requests, and lockbox receipts.
- Provides customer service to account holders involving deposits, bankcards, online banking, and cash management products.
- Administrates the booking and establishment of new consumer and business deposit accounts and related products.
- Processes bankcard and ATM disputes per regulations.
- Performs data quality assurance by monitoring and maintaining the deposit database for accuracy.
- Maintains data tracking and identifies trends for management and compliance reporting.
- Provides intra-departmental support and assists with troubleshooting and offage research.
- Assist with branch and front desk coverage as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Possesses a thorough understanding of standard banking principles and bank operations, including new accounts, customer service, transaction processing and ATMs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Results driven with strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Able to maintain transitions, change of operating systems, procedures, and organizational culture.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in business administration, bank operations management or related field.
- Core processor experience, preferably Jack Henry SilverLake. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
