SUMMARY

At Habitat for Humanity of Lincoln County (HFHLC) we are dedicated as part of a global, nonprofit housing organization that works to eliminate substandard housing locally and worldwide through constructing, rehabilitating and preserving homes; by aiding in disaster recovery efforts, by advocating for fair and just housing policies; and by providing training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions.

By becoming our Disaster Recovery Resource Coordinator, you?ll join a collaborative, team-based organization. You will provide support for the Lincoln County Long-Term Recovery Group (LCLTRG) and oversee identification and deployment of resources in support of disaster recovery efforts. It?s the perfect way to use your project management skills to directly help the members of our community looking for a hand up, not a hand out.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

This position is grant funded and is currently only funded for 8-9 months.

Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Disaster Recovery Resource Coordinator is responsible for collaborating with the LCLTRG to ensure efficient deployment of resources and serves as a co-chair of the LCLTRG Unmet Needs Roundtable. This position also provides general support for HFHLC and LCLTRG operations as needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administrative: Work closely with the Executive Directors of Habitat for Humanity of Lincoln County and the Lincoln County Long-Term Recovery Group to accomplish organizational goals. Maintain physical and electronic files in compliance with established document retention policy. Assist with policy and procedure updates. Provides administrative and general support for HFHLC and LCLTRG activities as needed.
  • Unmet Needs Roundtable: Convenes meetings, ensuring all interested parties are invited to participate. Identifies gaps in community representation and recruits members to fill these gaps. Documents committee decisions and commitment of resources from Roundtable members.
  • Resource Coordination: Solicits contributions of discounted and donated materials and services to meet identified needs of disaster survivors. Schedules delivery of materials and volunteers to complete approved projects. Troubleshoots resource issues as they arise to ensure smooth project completion.
  • Volunteers: Networks within the community to recruit volunteers. Coordinates with the LCLTRG for optimal and efficient volunteer coverage. Creates a positive and encouraging work atmosphere, ensuring adequate communication, materials, and tools to create excellent volunteer experiences on work sites. Provides volunteer leadership and training. Anticipates problems and issues typical of this environment and takes proactive actions as necessary to help ensure schedules are met and work plans enabled. Maintains volunteer records.
  • Safety: Ensures safety guidelines are followed on-site and adequate training is provided to volunteers.
  • Procurement: Networks with contractors, suppliers, and other organizations to secure in-kind donations and discounts on supplies and services. Solicits bids for construction materials and services through competitive bid process. Properly codes and approves expenses.
  • Administration: Provides regular progress reports to the Executive Director and the LCLTRG. Provides administrative and general support for HFHLC activities as needed.
  • Other Duties as Assigned: Meets all long- and short-term goals established by the Executive Director.
