Work Health Solutions has been providing top tier medical care to its patients and employers since 2017. We provide various solutions for occupational health needs including mobile services, near-site clinics providing care to local employers, and on-site clinics at contracted employer sites to provide customized injury prevention programs to reduce workers compensations costs and improve employee health, safety, and productivity in the workplace.

Work Health Solutions is looking for an experienced Human Resource Manager to ensure that all human resources (HR) operations are carried on smoothly and effectively. You will be responsible for implementing HR programs and policies for staffing, compensation, benefits, employee relations, training, health and safety, etc. To be success in this role the HR Manager must be able to evaluate human resources policies and strategies to determine improvements to be made and report findings to senior management.

Essential Job Duties:

· Acts as Payroll/Benefits/Retirement Administrator. Prepares bi-weekly payrolls and administers benefits programs.

· Maintaining staff records and managing employee benefits including benefits enrollments periods.

· Process payroll and related adjustments, deductions, withholdings, garnishments or other matters impacting payroll.

· Prepare offer and new hire documents, maintain I-9 files and other required employee records, and engage in preparation of employee census information for compliance reports.

· Supervise employee terminations for compliance with applicable policies, and provide appropriate documentation where termination is warranted. Engage in disciplinary investigations and make decisions regarding appropriate response to disciplinary matters, including directing staff on appropriate actions to take.

· Provide documentation and information to other departments as required to comply with legal standards and/or ensure efficient operations.

· High-level overview, supervision and understanding of recruitment process.

· Assist with ensuring accuracy of Time and Attendance data and various accruals, compliance with IRS and other governmental laws and regulations.

· Responsible for workers’ compensation administration and compliance, including claims, audits, and inter-departmental communication.

· Assists the Director of HR with the management of the human resources operations by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining staff; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing staff job contributions; maintaining compensation; determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies; designing systems; accumulating resources; resolving problems; implementing change.

· Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.

· Implement human resources policies and suggest changes in policies and procedures based on company needs.

· Ongoing review and assist with updating the employee handbook, other HR policies and procedures, and assists the management teams to ensure employee compliance.

· Assists department heads in planning professional development and training programs for employees.

· Coordinate, monitor and suggest improvements for the company’s performance appraisal system.

· Regularly interact with all department heads to inquire about additional HR needs.

· Other duties as assigned.

Core Competencies, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Stong knowledge and experience in CALIFORNIA employment laws (required)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in human resources or business (preferred).
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR or the ability and willingness to work toward this goal (preferred).
  • Five years of human resources experience including one to two years of management experience.
  • Stong understanding of employment laws in a multistate environment
  • Excellent leadership, training and developmental skills.
  • Strong decision-making skills.
  • Adept to problem-solving and conflict resolution.
  • Extensive knowledge of HR policies and systems.
  • Familiarity with HR software (preferred).
  • Strong computer skills and experience with office management and communication software.
  • Ability to understand statistical data and mathematical concepts and how to apply them to HR processes.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Expert in labor laws set by governing authorities and organizations
  • Ability to comprehend complex language, theories and methodologies.
  • Time management and organizational skills.

Competitive Salary: $90,000 - $115,000 per year (depending on experience level)
