Power Dental Lab

The Lab Manager is a “Working Manager” role, with a majority emphasis on the management aspects of the job. The Lab Manager is responsible for all operational aspects of the lab, including production, equipment, employee performance, purchasing supplies, inventory management, software, accurate documentation and deadline achievement. He/she trains lab personnel on the correct use of lab equipment, in addition to mentoring, engaging staff and holding staff accountable. The Lab Manager makes sure his/her employees follow industry standards and safety regulations. Maintaining confidentiality, handling security documents and ensuring that all information and data collected in the lab is kept safe are priorities. This individual works cross-functionally with many facets of the organization and partners closely with product, sales, and operations.

Job Duties

  • Create work schedules by distributing work activity to each department daily
  • Responsible for reaching and maintaining pre-determined production goals
  • Oversees adjustments and remakes
  • Work to improve efficiency and quality in delivering products and services
  • Develop lab goals and objectives
  • Ensure that the lab is up to date on and compliant with new laws and regulations
  • Recruit, train, and supervise staff
  • Oversee the retention and organization of lab records
  • Oversee the entering of work orders and accompanying materials including impressions, models and components
  • Oversee the manufacture and fit of all aspects of dental prosthetics including accurate manufacture and articulation of implant models, setting of denture teeth, denture processing and all related components and processes
  • Responsible for all quality control systems and delivery
  • Responsible for performing bench work as an additional resource when and as needed
  • Maintain all laboratory facilities, equipment and instruments; ensure the workplace is organized and operates efficiently
  • Monitor all laboratory related supplies and ordering through paper and/or computer-based purchase order systems
  • Teach, mentor and develop other technicians and auxiliary staff; create developmental and training programs where necessary
  • Supervise all laboratory personnel and laboratory processes
  • Oversee the receiving and entering of all laboratory work and accompanying materials including impressions, models and components
  • Construct and monitor a schedule for equipment, instruments and facility maintenance
  • Participate in and encourage continuing education opportunities for all staff
  • Operate computers and standard office type applications such as web browsers, word processing and spreadsheet software applications as well as dental laboratory specific applications.
  • Communicate with members of the management team
  • Maintain only the highest degree of professionalism and communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrate expert problem-solving skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

Experience:

  • dental lab production/management: 3 years (Preferred)
