Key job responsibilities
The Material Scientist/Engineer will serve as one of the key team members specializing in new material synthesis at the advanced materials facility.
They will work in an agile, fast-paced and startup-like environment on projects that will have a profound impact on the world.

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct lab-scale synthesis of organometallic compounds and analyze characterization data to inform future materials design
  • Maintain and manage lab-based equipment for material synthesis and characterization
  • Set-up and support small-scale materials processing experiments
  • Support cross-functional product development teams to design new developments, write research proposals, and communicate results.
  • Document Standard Operating Procedures for synthesis, formulation, and testing.

• M.S or Ph.D degree in Material Science, Mechanical / Chemical Engineering and/or related discipline • Experience with synthesis of organometallic compounds • Ability to work in a chemistry laboratory in accordance with global EHS rules as well as local regulations. • Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results • Ability to deliver initiatives from conception through completion • Curiosity to dig several layers deep into technical solutions with an eye toward continuous improvement • Passion for driving radical innovations and are passionate about building things from the ground up • Knowledge of molecular modelling software is an advantage • Knowledge of intellectual property applications is an advantage Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
