Fountainhead is currently seeking a technical specialist with a strong technical background, a passion for learning new technologies, and a commitment to quality to enter the patent and intellectual property (IP) field. Applicants with training and experience in the areas of software, analog/digital circuits, wireless communications, computer networking, and other engineering technologies are encouraged to make inquiries. As part of the successful candidate’s career development, we will help obtain the necessary skills and knowledge to sit for the registration exam at the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) qualifying the technical specialist as a US Patent Agent.

Law School Option

Successful candidates who complete one calendar year of full-time employment with the firm and establish Missouri in-state residency, for the purpose of in-state tuition, may be eligible for tuition reimbursement for part-time enrollment in law school, while continuing their employment with the firm as a student associate.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities for this position will be in the areas of studying and learning some of the most interesting inventions in the tech sector and learning to prepare and prosecute patent applications. These activities involve interactions with our clients’ inventors and examiners at the USPTO.

Job Requirements:

  • BS or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering (other engineering disciplines or hard science degrees will be considered)
  • Proficient technical reading comprehension and strong technical writing skills are a must
  • US work authorization (Required)

Pay: $60,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
