The Senior Contracts Analyst is a highly motivated and organized individual with critical thinking and decision making skills, who takes initiative. This person is responsible for commercial and technology contracts review and management as well as support to the broader Indeed in-house Legal team. In addition to working with our existing processes, this person helps make matters even more efficient.
This position supports Indeed’s corporate legal team and global stakeholders as we continue to grow around the world.
The ideal candidate has the ability to work independently on daily review of bespoke technology contracts and commercial contracts, and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Technology contracts cover areas such as: Indeed and 3rd party system integration; Indeed and/or 3rd party API access; innovative SaaS solutions that support the Indeed suite of products.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage intake, review and lifecycle of complex technical contracts and other bespoke commercial contracts and conduct correspondence with all stakeholders regarding contract review items and status of contract requests
  • Manage and own contract queue and prioritize urgent requests as necessary
  • Manage information flow among internal stakeholders, external parties and counsel
  • Conduct thorough review of contracts in relation to internal legal thresholds, criteria, risks and independently find solutions for complex, non-standard and unique contract requests
  • Draft and revise contract wording where appropriate while assessing risk and providing recommendations to stakeholders and counsel with the goal of protecting Indeed's interests
  • Make independent decisions on individual contracts regarding approvals, the need for escalation for further review, including counsel review
  • Escalate to and work closely with internal stakeholders to negotiate commercial terms and obtain approvals for modifications
  • Remain educated about Indeed’s numerous products, integrations and initiatives, recognizing the impact of the product changes to the contracts and negotiation strategies
  • Initiate, prioritize, participate in, complete and own delivery of ongoing team projects with a goal of an improved, faster and simpler way of doing things (automation, new processes)
  • Assist with creating legal resources for stakeholders
  • Support the team in ad hoc research and projects as necessary
  • Coordinate tasks with other departments and act as a point of contact for internal stakeholders

Who You Are

  • 2+ years of experience working with contracts, contract review
  • 4+ years demonstrated work experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with the ability to successfully manage frequent changing of priorities and workload
  • Experience with technology contract review such as: API license, system integrations, SaaS, online tool or software or API terms, infrastructure purchase/provision agreements.
  • Strong technical aptitude and able to effectively communicate with non-technology professionals in a layperson's terms.
  • Experience extracting, relaying, understanding information from contracts including the meaning of legal clauses and revision impact on the contract clauses
  • Strong ability to work independently; plan, delegate and manage own workload and projects concurrently under minimal supervision
  • Ability to analyze data and apply the analysis to decision-making
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and working in a fast-paced ever-changing environment while able to exercise sound judgement in independent decision-making
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the company while ensuring compliance with set processes and procedures
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct careful and thoughtful analysis of complex agreements while recognising potential legal risk
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word (tracked changes), Excel and Google suite
  • Strong customer relation/service experience
  • Ability to formulate new ways of doing things in a resourceful way using one’s own initiative
  • Excellent attention to details and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees.
