Buckhorn Lake State Resort Park is currently seeking a full-time Park Business Manager I to operate and supervise all operations of the parks business office. This is an amazing opportunity to work in a beautiful natural resort-park setting while managing the business office of the State Resort Park. We are seeking a person with accounting and organizing skills.

Buckhorn Lake State Resort Park is located near Hazard, KY in Perry County. Surrounded by rolling, tree-covered hills with hiking trails, the lodge overlooks the beautiful 1,200-acre lake. The lodge has 36 rooms and five cottages, offers full amenities, including a restaurant, and is open year-round.

The Park Business Manager I reports directly to the Resort Park Manager. Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Overseeing the operational aspects of the Business Office
  • Assisting the Resort Park Manager with overall park management
  • Accounts receivables, accounts payables, payroll
  • Managing daily operations, submitting Daily Business Reports to Parks’ Central Office
  • Inventory control, ordering of products
  • Scheduling, training and supervision of one employee (conducting employee reviews and evaluations)
  • Cash accountability, meeting deadlines
Strong organizational and accounting skills preferred.
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, public administration or a related field.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have two years of experience in accounting, business administration, public administration, management or a related field.


Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Experience in accounting, business administration, public administration, management or a related field will substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be 20 years and one day of age at time of appointment. Must obtain S.T.A.R. (Server Training in Alcohol Regulations) certification from the Kentucky Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control within six months of appointment. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this classification. Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possesses and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials.
Working Condition
Works primarily in an office but will often work throughout the park and on the park grounds.
Probationary Period
